Nintendo Controller Even God Knows It
November 27th, 2008Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A. Every Nintendo geek knows the Konami Code (also known as the Konami Command and the Contra Code). This was a cheat code that could be used in many Konami video games, usually enabling some sort of secret option. November 27th, 2008Forget 1999. 1985 was the party of the century when Nintendo made its debut. Kids all over the country stopped playing outside and started sitting in front of the tv playing video games for hours on end. Ahhh, the beginning of the obesity epidemic.
Mario Brothers I Don’t Wanna Grow Up
November 27th, 2008Sometimes I would avoid the mushrooms in Mario Brothers to stay small as it would be easier to get through lots of obstacles and enemies. November 27th, 2008I was made in the eighties. 1980. Nintendo was a staple of my childhood. I remember when it first came out and my neighbor got one and we’d all be at his house playing it for hours every day. Actually most of the time we spent watching him play because he was a selfish hog but it was so awesome and new just watching it was fun. Are you an 80s child too?

Or were you the person who’d collect every single mushroom, break every single brick, and collect every single coin possible? Don’t ya wish there was mushrooms and coins for the picking as you walked down the street in real life?
It’s On Like Donkey Kong
November 27th, 2008Some fun facts: Donkey Kong was originally an arcade game that came out in 1981. This was the game that Mario made his debut and he was originally named Jumpman, a reference to the fact that he had to jump over the barrels that Donkey Kong threw at him. The name Jumpman was also chosen because of the popularity of Pacman as well as the Walkman. Donkey Kong was created by Shigeru Miyamoto, who modeled the game after a combination of King Kong and Popeye. Miyamoto went on to create many of Nintendo’s most popular games.
